![]() Call for Age Friendly Projects and Initiatives – Submit your entry Now!!Are you involved in an age-friendly project or initiative? Are you doing something to support older people in your community, town, city, county, or country? We are seeking innovative projects from across a range of areas that have a real impact on the lives of older people and have the potential to be showcased and replicated. We welcome initiatives at both local and national levels. Shortlisted projects will be visited by the judging panel and invited to Ireland’s Age Friendly Recognition and Achievements Awards ceremony on 7th of November 2024 in the Crowne Plaza, Northwood, Santry, Dublin.Find out more › |

![]() There were over 30 community and voluntary groups showcasing what they do. One of those was the Leitrim Older Persons Council. The Older Persons Council stand was manned by Pat Tearall and Teresa Faughnan who talked about their experience of the Sweeter the Tune Project. Leitrim’s Sweeter the Tune project scooped first prize in the Community Innovation Category at the National Age Friendly Awards in 2023. The Active Age Groups, Annaduff ICA, Drumkeeran Friendship Club and Mohill Active Age Group all PPN registered groups, were matched with Artists to work together. The aim of the Awards was to celebrate innovative and creative initiatives, implemented across the country which have made a real difference to the lives of older people in Ireland. ![]() ![]() Living Well Programme The Living Well Programme is a FREE, 6 week self-management group programme for adults living with long term health conditions, such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart conditions, stroke and others to name but a few. We are planning to run a programme in Trim Family Resource centre starting on Wednesday 26th June to 31st July (i.e. each Wednesday for 6 weeks) from 1.30pm – 4.00pm.Find out more › |

Our West Regional Manager, Ciara Farrell, is representing Age Friendly Ireland, who is a guest speaker at Norway’s Annual Conference of the Municipalities which focuses on older people. 260 participants are in attendance with speakers also from The Centre for Ageing in Norway . |
