National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement AwardsAge Friendly Ireland is thrilled to announce that we are now open for applications to the Annual National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards for 2024. Each year a local authority hosts the awards event, and we are excited to reveal that Fingal County Council are hosting this year’s event on the 7th of November 2024 in the Crowne Plaza, Northwood, Santry, Dublin.Find out more ›

Presentation to the Town Centre First Officers

On Wednesday 22nd May AFI were invited to present to the Town Centre First Officers and Officials from the LGMA in Mountmellick, Co. Laois to share details of the age friendly initiatives that can support the roll out of the next allocation of town centre first plans nationally. Details on AF programmes, walkability audit, age friendly towns and age friendly housing and public realm principles where shared with the group.

Mary was delighted that An Taoiseach is highly supportive of Slaintecares vision for #HealthyAgeFriendlyHomes and the Age Friendly Ireland Shared Service 
  
Be Summer ReadyThe aim of the campaign is to provide information to the general public on issues which may affect them during the summer months in Ireland, encouraging people to be informed and aware of the risks which may occur, in order to be prepared, to stay safe, and know where to find help if needed in an emergency. The focus of the 2024 campaign messaging is “TravelWise”.Find out more ›

Men’s Health Week Webinar

Join us at the start of Men’s Health Week on Monday 10th June, 11.30am – 12.30pm, for an uplifting webinar, with special guest Rob Kearney. Register here.Other speakers include Dr. Alan Smith from the HSE National Screening Service and Dr. Noel Richardson from the National Centre for Men’s Health in SETU.The theme for Men’s Health Week this year is ‘Know Your Numbers’ so we will be highlighted some important numbers and statistics for men’s health.
