There’s lots to catch up on in this week’s edition, with a special focus on our upcoming Winter Plenary on Thursday, 29 October at 7pm, taking place online via Zoom. Join us for PPN updates, networking, discussion and a thought-provoking presentation from Louise Weir of the University of Galway. It’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow members, share ideas and help shape the future of the network!

🙋‍♀️ Could you help shape your community’s future? We have a range of voluntary vacancies across our Secretariat, Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) and LCDC, including opportunities in Economic Development & Enterprise; Social Inclusion, Community & Rural Development; and Arts, Culture & Language. There are also vacant Secretariat seats representing several Municipal Districts and the Environmental Electoral College. These roles help ensure community voices are heard in local decision-making — and support, training and guidance are available.

📢 Important membership news! Cork County PPN will begin a full member re-registration process in the new year. Now is a good time to check that your group’s contact information is up to date, so you don’t miss out on future funding, training, consultations and other PPN supports.

💶 Funding season is approaching! With programmes such as the Local Enhancement Programme and Municipal District Community Fund Scheme expected to reopen between now and early January 2027, we’re encouraging groups to get prepared. We have organised a four-part fundraising and grant application training programme with Tom O’Leary on 23 and 24 November and 1 and 2 December, all online from 7.30pm to 9pm. To reserve a spot groups should email .

🤖 And there’s AI training on the horizon! Our practical online workshop on 9 November at 7.30pm will explore how free AI tools can help community groups with funding applications, committee administration, minutes, newsletters and everyday communications — including how to use these tools safely and responsibly.

Alongside all this, there are community events, volunteering opportunities, stakeholder training and plenty more to explore.

Another useful edition packed with ways to connect, build skills, find funding and make your voice heard across Cork County! đź’ś
