Our Biggest Newsletter EVER

OUR BIGGEST NEWSLETTER EVER — AND WHAT A NETWORK WE’VE BUILT! 🎉💜

This week, we have something extra special to celebrate at Cork County Public Participation Network: our biggest newsletter ever, a BONUS EDITION – our most contributed-to edition yet! 🥳

And honestly? We couldn’t be prouder!!

This newsletter is so much more than a collection of events, funding opportunities and announcements. It is a snapshot of the incredible community spirit, generosity, creativity and hard work happening right across our county and beyond.

Every contribution represents a group doing something worthwhile. A volunteer giving their time. A community finding solutions. A local organisation creating opportunities. People coming together to protect our environment, celebrate our heritage, support one another and make Cork a better place to live.

THAT is what Cork County PPN is all about. 💪

🌍 LOOK AT THE NETWORK WE’VE BUILT!

This edition brings together an amazing range of organisations, initiatives, communities and opportunities, including:

🌱 Environment, nature & sustainability
Nature Network Ireland, Green Skibbereen, Transition Town Kinsale, and the Peatlands and Climate Change Project — championing biodiversity, permaculture, peatland conservation, climate action and more sustainable communities.

🏡 Local communities, culture & heritage
Bantry Roots of Resilience, Conna Community Council, Aughadown ICA, East Cork Railway Alliance, and Cork Volunteer Centre. From local history and community cafés to skills sharing, fundraising and volunteering, these are the people making places thrive.

💚 Health, wellbeing & inclusion
The West Cork Dementia Inclusive Project, the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, HUGG — initiatives supporting people affected by bereavement, older people, carers and those who need a little extra support.

🎓 Learning, training & community development
Social Justice Ireland, The Wheel, Deloitte Ireland and our own Cork County PPN training initiatives — helping community representatives develop their skills, strengthen their organisations and make their voices count.

💶 Funding, opportunities & support
Rethink Ireland, the Heritage Council, SECAD and more — bringing attention to funding, grants and resources that can help community groups turn ideas into action.

🗣️ Participation, research & having your say
Cork County Council, the University of Galway, University College Dublin, Research Ireland, the Department of Transport, the Irish Coast Guard and Wexford Pride are among those featured through consultations, research, participation opportunities and initiatives encouraging people to share their experiences and perspectives.
