| News View The Wheel’s 2023 Annual Infographic! The Wheel is delighted to publish our Infographic for 2023, showcasing some of our results and achievements throughout the year. One of our most successful years yet, we saw some significant milestones including our membership growing to 2323 members by 31 December with member representation from every county on the island. We also welcomed a whopping 7473 people to 139 events, both in-person and online, with attendees reporting a 95% satisfaction rating. We continue to be heartened by our growing membership and our level of engagement with our members and look forward to continuing our journey together throughout 2024 and beyond. Find out more Survey: Commissioning of Social, Community and Personal Services TASC, on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development, has launched a questionnaire that aims to collect baseline information on the commissioning of social, community and personal services in Ireland, including information on the scale of commissioning, approaches to commissioning, and the impact of commissioning across public bodies and the community and voluntary sector. TASC is inviting Directors or Managers of community and voluntary and local development organisations who are engaged in securing contracts to deliver services to complete the questionnaire. Please complete the questionnaire by 14 June 2024. Find out more Consultations Open for the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth is developing a successor strategy to the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy (2019-2021) to promote inclusion, protect rights and to improve quality of life and wellbeing for LGBTI+ people; enabling them to participate fully in Ireland’s social, economic, cultural, and political life. As part of this process the Department wants to gather the views of members of the LGBTIQ+ community and those who engage with LGBTIQ+ issues through their own lived experience, at a local level, in a manner that will contribute most effectively to the development of a new whole of lifecycle strategy. A series of regional consultation workshops will be facilitated by key LGBT experts – Dr. Grainne Healy and Dr. Kathy Walsh, in partnership with LGBT Ireland. Find out more Business Post to Publish Special Not-For-For Profit Sector Report on 9 June The Business Post is partnering with The Wheel to publish a special Not-for-profit Sector Report on Sunday 9 June 2024. The report presents service providers and sector leaders with an opportunity to showcase thought leadership and raise their profile in this vital sector and beyond! The report will appear in Business Post print and online editions, and the digital version will be circulated by The Wheel to thousands of organisations in the not-for-profit sector. The not-for-profit sector contributes significantly to Ireland’s social and economic prospects. Every year over two-thirds of adults, that’s more than two million people – participate in the social, sporting, cultural and humanitarian activities offered by 32,842 organisations in the non-for-profit-sector. The sector directly employs around 165,000 people and manages a combined annual income of €14.2BN. Find out more | |
